Check out this simple and user-friendly Venn Diagram that comes in a variety pack of different formats. Three templates are included with labels on the bottom for simple differentiation. These formats include space, and varying amounts of line. This therefore cna be used for a variety of grade levels as well as for students with disabilities or simply differentiating based on needs (all while other students don't know the difference). Promote critical thinking but in an organized manner with this clear outline of comparing and contrasting. Be sure to check out my other graphic organizers if you would prefer a different format.

Presented in four different formats for differentiation purposed accoridng to grade level and student needs, this template will promote critical thinking and can be used in a variety of formats. Students will find the format fun but clear and will appreciate the clear organization of it. The variety pack includes a blank T-Chart, one with bullets, one with lines, and then one with more spaced out lines. Check out this simple and clear running record reference sheet. With seven pre-determined abbreviations and a blank spot for one more, this attachment is meant to be printed and stapled to the documentation for running records. This way students can reference what they need to work on and why they did well. It is intended to align to a 60 second reading fluency test. Presented in eight steps, with clear directions, students will be forced to analyze critically and reflect on the information presented in any assigned text. Some of the prompts include items such as "two words describing a support detail" or "four words describing the author's purpose" or "six important vocabulary words". Each line adds one more space. Check out this 10 question assessment that check students’ understanding of using guide words to navigate dictionaries. Students WILL NEED an actual dictionary in front of them, as this is a hands-on interactive assessment. The first five questions prompt students to identify the two guide words on the page of five identified words. The second portion of the assessment prompts students to identify if the identified word would fall on the page of the identified guide words. An answer key is included for your convenience.

You will need the book to complete this lesson, but there are multiple digital and read aloud version online (Youtube offers some good options). Included in this packet is a clear step by step lesson for teachers as well as a planning sheet and differentiated formats for final copies that students can use. Aligned to the ideas in the Leader In Me Program, students can begin with the end in mind and reflect on where they want to go, and what they have to do to get there, while tying in concepts from the book!
